Grand Canyon National Park officials have announced the new Colorado River Management Plan a great success. "We were thrilled to see 800 applicants in the last lottery for a January 14 launch date" noted Steve Gambler, park lottery manager. "It's great to see our planning really work! There were no applications for the 14th of June!" Gambler stated.

Releases from Glen Canyon Dam in April 2008 will average 10,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) through April 14, 2008. During this period, on Mondays through Fridays, daily release fluctuations, due to load following, will likely vary between a low of 7,000 cfs (during early morning and late evening off-peak hours) and a high of 13,000 cfs (during late morning and early evening on-peak hours). On Saturdays and Sundays during this period, release fluctuations will likely vary between a low of 7,000 and a high of 12,500 cfs.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has put together a giant project called the West Tavaputs Plateau Natural Gas Full Field Development Plan, encompassing approximately 137,930 acres of Federal, State, and private lands on both sides of the Green River in Desolation Canyon.
Dory Remains Pinned in Dubendorff Rapid

On Wednesday, April 23rd, an 18 foot aluminum dory became pinned on a rock near the top of the right entrance to Deubendorff Rapid at mile 131.5 on the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park.
